    Awareness Sunday

    http://www.awarenesssunday.com/index.html

Awareness Sunday takes place each year on the Sunday on, or after, the anniversary of the September 11 th attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The main event is a special public service of remembrance and reconciliation at Westminster Abbey in London at 6.30 pm. The hope is that churches and other religious groups from around the globe will join them in that moment to honor those lost on 9-11 and “turn the evil carried out in the name of religion by a handful of people on 9-11 into a force for good in the world. It’s also an annual opportunity to reflect on the value of loving our neighbour as ourself, even if our neighbour is of a different religious faith or worldview." The Foundation hopes that churches, schools, and organizations around the world will use their materials to help people to move from repentance to reconciliation.

Performing Tribute 9-11: Ordinary Tribute, Remarkable Stories

    http://www.performingtribute.com/performingtribute.com/Home.html

Performing Tribute weaves together the perspectives of six individuals who were separately yet directly impacted by the events of 9-11— family members who lost loved ones; survivors who lived through the bombing of the WTC in 1993 and the attacks on September 11, 2001; an evacuated resident who lived on Liberty Street; FDNY firefighters who responded on September 11, 2001, and a New Jersey resident who volunteered with the Salvation Army during the recovery.  Performing Tribute is performed by the actual people whose lives were impacted by 9-11. Everyone involved in Performing Tribute feels strongly that the stories of 9-11 must be told and that the 10th anniversary year is a unique opportunity to honor those we lost.  In addition to the five free performances they have organized in Manhattan and New Jersey they have also created a 30-minute version of the script that they are distributing, also free, to High Schools across the US to stage their own reading for the 10th anniversary. The event is free and open to the public. For additional information contact: (212) 288-6743 Phone
